Little Red Wagon #335 Watercolour Happy Birthday

Hello Everyone

I'm excited to be hosting this week's Little Red Wagon Challenge #335!   Watercolour techniques and styles are very much still a big thing right now in cards still and I have been really into creating cards with watercolours/distress inks etc.

This is the card I created for this challenge!  I LOVE how it turned out!! :)  I used four different distress inks on a watercolour yardstick using the smooshing technique I've seen Kristina Werner do on her cards.  I used a Mama Elephant sentiment in Archival black ink that works well with watercolours.  I have had these music note sequins in my stash for years and thought they would look cute to finish off this card.  I used one of my stitched rectangles that is one size smaller than my card base and then adhered it with fun foam on the back to pop it off the card base.

Please head on over to the other LRW Girlfriends' blogs and see the wonderful projects they did for this weeks challenge.  The links for their blogs are along the sidebar of my blog.  You can also check them out on the Little Red Wagon blog and then link your projects based on the weekly challenges as well.  We love seeing your creations!!! :)

CYCI Challenge #113 Thanks Card

Hello Everyone

Hope you are enjoying your Easter long weekend! This week's Can You Case It? Challenge (#113) is a colour challenge.

I created this simple card with dies and card stock.  Because of it's simplicity I added interest with the scallop and stitched borders along with a large sentiment.  To finish this simple card I used three star sequins to add a little sparkle.  This is a good masculine card even with the scallop border in my opinion because of the simplicity and colours.

We would love to see your takes on the challenges over on the CYCI blog.  Please make sure you read the guidelines before playing along.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrappin'! :)

Little Red Wagon #334 Lawn Fawn Spring Easter

Hello Everyone

This week's Little Red Wagon Challenge #334 is hosted by Donna and she wanted to see some Easter or Spring themed projects.

I love stretching my stamp sets and that is what I did for this challenge.  I used these cute bunnies from a winter themed stamp set from Lawn Fawn and used them of this spring themed card.  I am loving creating cards with scallop rectangles right now and love how  this card turned out with the scallop frame.  I used tumbled glass distress ink for my sky and used some pretty polka dot patterned paper for my grass and card front. I kept my colouring of the eggs very simple and didn't do any shading.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #333 Lawn Fawn Wedding Congratulations

Hello Everyone

This week's Little Red Wagon Challenge #333 is "Shape Up" :) Brenda wanted to see cards that weren't rectangle or square.  :)

I created this scallop circle card for this challenge.  I used Lawn Fawn products for this simple wedding card.  I kept my colouring very light and didn't do a lot of shading for this.  I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for my background. I added some clear Wink Of Stella to the trim on the cake and the bride's flower though t's not really visible in the photo.  Finally, I curved my sentiment to go around the top part of the card.  I love that you can do that with photopolymer stamps!

Sketch N Scrap March 15th 2016 layout - Play Everyday

Hello Everyone

Today's layout is for this awesome sketch Kelly designed for Sketch N Scrap!!

The papers I used are from some older Studio Calico kits I had.  I added my title and that was it.  This is a very simple layout.  My background paper was a large floral print and I felt that it didn't need any embellishing.

We would love to see your layouts and cards based on our sketches!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #332 - Mama Elephant Playful Pups Masculine Birthday Card

Hello Everyone

This week's Little Red Wagon Challenge #332 is "Mainly Manly" :) Janice wanted to see some masculine themed projects! :)

As I have said it before, masculine cards/projects are a challenge for me. I created this card using the same techniques I used for this card from a couple of weeks ago.  I used the balloon alphabet stamp set and coordinating dies for the Happy and stamped the 'Birthday' on my background.  I kept it simple.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #331 Happy Birthday Card

Hello Everyone

This week's Little Red Wagon Challenge #331 is being hosted by Heather and she wanted us to create "CAS One Layer Cards"  :)
This is the card I created for this challenge!  I love this alphabet stamp set from Stamping' Up! and haven't had too many chances to play with it until now.  I have seen cards on Pinterest and blogs using it and this is what I created based on some of those cards I've seen on social media. I LOVE how it turned out!! :)  I used five different ink pads with the rectangle shape from the set and then stamped my letters with black ink. I added the "birthday" to finish the sentiment.  I used my Lawn Fawn A2 size stitched rectangle die to give the card some more interest and dimension.
