Hello Spring - Frosted Designs Friday Challenge "SPRING"

Hello Everyone! :)

Today's Friday Challenge for Frosted Designs is  using the word "SPRING"! It could be for the season, a for time change or an object springing!

I wanted to play around with some acrylic paints I had and the mint and pool colours were the ones I was drawn to.  These colours are two of my favourite colours to create with right now. I created a base with some Gesso and then with a gift card created this tap tap technique surrounding my photos.   I matted my three photos and layered them on my base cardstock.  I added some embellishments around my page including some sequins and a turquoise paper clip arrow.  I then cut my page down by 1/4" all around and layered it on top of a dark gray cardstock.
My title 'HELLO SPRING' was created using a Hello die and I stitched the SPRING with teal floss.

Hop on over to checkout all the other awesome creations based on this challenge over on the Frosted Designs Blog. Don't forget to play along with us at Frosted Designs and link up your take on this 'Spring' Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrappin'! :)

Hello Everyone
The card I created is based on today's Sketch N Scrap card sketch.  This is the card sketch was created by Lisa Hidy one of the very talented sketch artists and co-owners at Sketch N Scrap.

I used all Lawn Fawn products for this card.  I coloured my cute monster with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from the Year Two stamp set and the papers are from the new Beachside Collection pack.

Starbucks - Good Stuff Scrapbooking Layout

Hello Everyone

I wanted to share a layout I created recently using a stencil for the background and mist.  I die cut a bunch of scraps I had with a stackable stitched circle set. I used the die cut circles and another stencil I had of coffee cup stains with a dubber and distress ink along the side.  I layered my single 4x4 photo in the centre.  I added a little more stamping in some of the circles as well.  I used a woodgrain thicker alphabet set for my title, added my journaling below the title and finished the layout off with some puffy gold hearts. I matted my page on a dark brown cardstock and I was done!

Hope I have inspired you to use some of your stencils and scraps to create simple layout.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrappin'!

You COLOUR My World - Frosted Designs Friday Challenge "SPLATTER"

Hello Everyone! :)

Today's Friday Challenge for Frosted Designs is  "SPLATTER"!!  Perfect for the kid inside all of us!

I decided on a basic primary bright bold base.  I took some re-inkers and dipped a drinking straw in each and spread the ink on my blank white cardstock.  I added some drops using the straw as well.  Once my base was completely dry I added my photos.  I created my title with stamps and alphabet dies.  I popped little strips of coordinating cardstock for behind the die cut word COLOUR.  I added some embellishments around my page including some enamel dots and a couple of coloured paper clip arrows.  I then cut my page down by 1/4" all around and layered it on top of a dark gray cardstock.  Hope I have inspired you to "Splatter" around on your next layout! :)

NOT SNOW MUCH FUN Layout for Sketch N Scrap April 2015 Twistback Thursday

Hello Everyone
I created this layout for the Sketch N Scrap Twistback Thursday!  The layout sketch was created by one of the very talented sketch artists at Sketch N Scrap. This month's Twistback Thursday is based  on the October 2012 sketch number 19 the twist was to use a mask/stencil with ink/paint.

I love using stencils and mists etc on my layouts!  I used one of my snowflake stencils (I believe it was the Simon Says Stamp) and used some modeling paste in the top corner and bottom corner of my layout.  I also used some gesso in sections of my base paper (Lawn Fawn paper).  I used some scraps of patterned paper and did a little stamping.  I die cut some snow flakes and added them to my layout.  Even with my title I felt it wasn't complete.  I decided to stamp and die cut the cute snowman (Lawn Fawn) and add him to the layout.  A few sprinkles of snowflake sequins and then it felt complete to me.

Creating a Scene Using Lawn Fawn products from Scrapbooks By Design

Hello Everyone

Today I created a layout using Lawn Fawn products from the Scrapbooks by Design store!  My Scene was created using the Let's Play Stamp Set and Let's Play Die Set from Lawn Fawn. The patterned papers are from the Let's Polka Collection Pack and Pint-Sized Patterns Beachside Collection Pack.  I used the Spring Showers Dies for my clouds and sun.  I love the fact that Lawn Fawn has coordinating die sets for most of their stamp sets!  It makes creating scenes like this so much easier!  I coloured the images with the Crafter's Companion Spectrum Noir markers.  The layered grass was created using the Grassy Border Die.  I created my title using Violet's ABCs Stamp Set and Louie's ABCs Dies.  I reach for my Lawn Fawn alphabet stamp set and dies all the time.  They are so very versatile and make creating your own titles etc so easy! :)
Hope I have inspired you to create scenic layouts with the amazing products from Lawn Fawn at Scrapbooks By Design!  They aren't just for card making!

April 1st Sketch N Scrap Layout - LIVE LAUGH PLAY!

Hello Everyone

Today I'm sharing this layout I created for Sketch N Scrap.  The layout sketch was created by Lisa Hidy one of the very talented sketch artists and co-owners at Sketch N Scrap

I used my Silhouette for this layout.  My title and the baseball.  I have had these 4 photos lying around for a while and didn't know what to do with them because I had used my stitched 3x4 die on them.  When I saw this sketch I knew it was perfect for them!  I also used some retired Stampin' Up! papers for this.  Because my photos had the rounded corners I decided to round the corners of my papers as well.
