Drip, Drip, Drip Little April Showers Mama Elephant Card Tag - Frosted Designs Friday Challenge

Hello Everyone! :)

Today's Friday Challenge for Frosted Designs is "Drip, Drip, Drip Little April Showers"  - drips, wellies, or umbrellas, or rain/clouds.  I want straight to my Mama Elephant Up and Away stamp set and dies and decided the umbrella would be perfect for this challenge!   I love the adorable critters and other images on this set.  I decided to make a shaker tag/card (also using Mama Elephant dies) for this.  I coloured my images with my Copic markers and added heart sequins both on the inside and the outside of the shaker card.  My shaker window is vellum on which I white heat embossed the sentiment.  I completed it with some floss at the top.

So now it's your turn!  You can head on over to the Frosted Designs Blog and link up your take on this 'Drip, Drip, Drip Little April Showers' Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrappin'! :)

Love You - Heat Embossing on Your Layouts

Hello Everyone
Today I wanted to share a layout I created with some Studio Calico patterned papers I had left over.  It's a pretty clean and simple layout.  I wanted to do some het embossing on this layout.  I took some of my favourite stamps from Ali Edwards - Technique Tuesday from a few years ago and used them.  I heat embossed all of the sayings in Smoke Grey embossing powder from Stampin' Up!  and the pink heart in Melon Mambo embossing powder also from Stampin' Up!  My Title is a mix of Lawn Fawn (Love) die and SC block letter stickers.

I encourage you to take out your embossing powders and use them on your layouts too!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrappin'! :)

Contribution for March 21st Scrap Your Scraps Blog Post

Hello Everyone

This Pocket Page Style layout is a contribution for Deb's Scrap Your Scraps post today.   I have a lot (and I do mean A LOT!) of PL/Pocket Page Style supplies so this was right up my alley! :)

I used 3x4 cards for this layout from Simple Stories.  It was very simple to put together.  That is what I do love about this type of scrapbooking.  It is so easy and simple to create a page.

I encourage you to use your Project Life / Pocket Page Style papers to create your next layout.

Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY SCRAPPIN'!

Creating a Scene Using Stamps and Dies for a Layout

Hello Everyone

Today's project is based on creating a scene for your layout using stamp sets and dies.  Creating a scene is very popular right now with card making.  I love doing that with my cards lately but I also wanted to get more use out of my stamp sets and dies.  So for this layout I used the same stamp sets and dies that a lot of people would use for card making.  I used all Lawn Fawn products for this layout (the papers however are all Stampin' Up!).

A type of dies in particular might seem to be only for card makers because they are at most 6" long are the border dies.  I stretched their use for my layout for the sand and water section as shown here.

I completed my layout with stamping and colouring some elements that went with layout and used them as my embellishments.  I stamped and die cut my title as well.

I encourage you to take your stamp sets and dies and use them on your layouts.  It's just one more way to stretch your tools to get your money's worth.

Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY SCRAPPIN'!

March 2015 Guest Designer - Lawnscaping Challenge 102 Distress Addicts

Hello Everyone

Today being the third Monday of the month I'm sharing my second and final post as Guest Designer for this month (March 2015) for Lawnscaping!  You can check out the challenge at the Lawnscaping Blog. It's Lawnscaping Challenge 102 - Distress Addicts and is sponsored by non other than Lawn Fawn!  Hope you join us over at Lawnscaping Blog create a project for this challenge!

For this challenge I created a simple thank you card.  I used watercolour paper for my card front.  I added three different distress inks (picked raspberry, squeezed lemonade and shaded lilac) with my blending pads and then added drops of water over it.  Once it had completely dried I took a circle template I had created on acetate and circle dies and sponged white pigment ink on top of the distressed watercolour paper to give it a Bokeh effect.  I used the largest of the Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables die set from Lawn Fawn to die cut the watercolour paper to size.  I also used the largest of the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables die set for the pink base of my card. For my sentiment I used the Thanks die from Lawn Fawn and die cut it on the distressed watercolour paper.  I added the So Much underneath from the Thank You Tags stamp set.  I added the cute birdie from the year four stamp set and added some sequins to finish the card!

Now it's your turn!  Can't wait to see all the amazing projects you create with this challenge over at the Lawnscaping Blog! :)

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrappin'! :)

Sisterly LOVE - Frosted Designs Friday Challenge 3-13-2015 - "PINK"

Hello Everyone! :)

Today's Friday Challenge for Frosted Designs is Something "PINK"!!  Some use of pink colour or just the word pink is enough!!  As I was going through my photos to see which ones to use, I saw this one and knew it would be perfect for this challenge!

I had a lot of scraps from the Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine 6x6 paper pad left over and thought it would be perfect for this.  I used my stitched circle dies and die cut a lot of different sized circles.  I'm not sure if you can tell by going through my other posts on my blog by I LOVE to hand stitch on my layouts!  My title is a combination of stitching and heat embossing.  I completed the layout with sprinkles of sequins and some splatters of mist.

So now it's your turn!  You can head on over to the Frosted Designs Blog and link up your take on this 'PINK' Challenge!

March 5th card for Sketch N Scrap - Thank You

Hello Everyone
Today I'm sharing this month's first Sketch N Scrap card with you.  This is the card sketch created by Kelly Holifield one of the very talented sketch artists and co-owners at Sketch N Scrap.

For this card I used some old and some new products.  The papers are from an older AC 6x6 paper pad I have had for a while.  The cute critters are from one of the new Lawn Fawn stamp and die sets called Bugs and Kisses.  For my background I wanted to use the zigzag patterned paper but found it was too busy....Vellum to the rescue!  The Vellum over it muted the pattern a bit and still showed the pretty bright colours of the paper.  I used a simple 'Thank You' sentiment from another Lawn Fawn stamp set and coloured my cute butterflies with Copic Markers.

March 1st Sketch N Scrap layout - CHEW MUCH GUM

Hello Everyone

Today I'm sharing this layout I created for Sketch N Scrap.  The layout sketch was created by Lisa Hidy one of the very talented sketch artists and co-owners at Sketch N Scrap

I kept my layout pretty simple and used three photos instead of the two that were on the sketch.  I used some older Amy Tangerine products.  My title is made up of letter stickers and stitching.  I added a little stitching around my embellishments as well. Completed this layout with a little journalling and I was done.  The layout came together pretty quickly.
