Only ONE DIRECTION - "What Direction?" Friday Challenge for Frosted Designs 1-30-15

Hello Everyone

SO EXCITED to be sharing my first challenge with you as part of the Frosted Designs Design Team Member!!! :)

The challenge was to show direction (arrows, words or anything else that indicates direction).  I knew instantly that I had finally found the right inspiration to do a layout of the One Direction Concerts we went to this summer! :)

I played around with the title a bit until I finally settled on 'Only ONE DIRECTION'.  It's based on the fact that the band came up with the name because there was only ONE DIRECTION that they wanted to all go (UP)!... The subtitle also worked with this challenge because it was called the 'WHERE WE ARE' Tour!

I used older products I had from a year or two ago.  I also did some stitching of chevrons with some grey and white floss above and below the photo collage.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrappin'! :)

Project Life 2015 - 52 Weeks using Silhouette Cameo

Hello Everyone

I wanted to share how I have set up my PL weeks for 2015.  Last year I had used the Studio Calico weekly 4x6 cards and I loved the fact that I didn't have to think about my weekly cards but for this year I still wanted to keep it uniform but use up some of my PL products I have been hoarding (I know there are others like me who buy and then it sits in your craft area neglected).  I have decided to use my Blush Core Kit and the papers etc I have in this collection for my 2015.  You can see my front page here (front and back using the E design pocket page - that was another thing - to use up the variety of pocket pages I have)! :)

So I sat down and created the 'weeks' and 'week numbers' on my Silhouette Cameo and cut them all with black card stock.  This way my weeks are still uniform but I have the freedom to choose the background paper/card stock I want and just glue these on once I have my layout figured out and which pocket style I will use for that particular week.
I was very simple to cut and took just 3 pieces of 12x12 black card stock!

I have also decided that I will be printing my PL photos once a month (beginning of the following month) and put my weekly layouts for the month together all at once.  I ended up doing this for my December 2014 PL layouts (my previous blog post) and I loved the ease of doing a whole month at once.  I found it didn't take up more time than doing it on a weekly basis.  In fact it probably took me less time!

Project Life December 2014 Layouts

Hello Everyone

I wanted to share my December 2014 Project Life pages with you.  I had created a bunch of PL 4x6 and 3x4 cards to use in my December Daily 2014 album (you can see the post here) but didn't end up using them for it.  I loved the cards and decided that I would use them for my PL December 2014 layouts.  They worked out perfectly! :).

Birthday, Baby & Love Card Stamping' Up! Sale-A-Bration 2015

Hello Everyone

Today I wanted to share a few of the cards I have created for card classes I've had.

I have mainly used Stampin' Up! products from the current catalogues and Sale-A-Bration catalogue. The balloons in the first card are from Paper Smooches and was inspired by a card Dawn Griffiths did.  I also used a die from Pretty Pink Posh (Hello Baby card).

The Hello Baby card was inspired by a card Nichol Magouirk did for Pretty Pink Posh last year.  I fell in love with it and had to do a take on it with supplies I had.

Love You Card for January 20th 2015 Sketch N Scrap

Hello Everyone
I'm so excited to be sharing a card I created based on today's Sketch N Scrap card sketch with you today!  This is the card sketch was created by Lisa Hidy one of the very talented sketch artists and co-owners at Sketch N Scrap.
I used the cute bunnies from Lawn Fawn and coloured them with Copic markers in warm Greys.  The stitched heart is from one of Amy Tangerine's stitching templates.  I used Simon Says Stamps new stitched rectangles for the pink and white card stock backgrounds.  The sentiment and banner dies are from Stampin' Up! as well as the ribbon and card stock.

Remember to play along with us over at Sketch N Scrap.
We would love to see your cards and layouts based on the amazing sketches Lisa and Kelly create!

BEST OF BOTH WORLDS: Double Page Layout Traditional and Pocket Style - Lawn Fawn Into The Woods

Hello Everyone

Today I'm sharing a double page layout I created.  I mixed a traditional 12x12 scrapbook layout with a pocket-style page layout.  For me this was the best solution to getting all the photos I wanted to use.  All my photos are 3x4 including on the traditional layout.  I used papers from one line (Lawn Fawn in this case) to have consistency throughout.  The brown DMC floss that I used on both pages also help with the flow between the two pages.  The third way I showed the flow and consistency between the two different styles was with the critters and dies I used.
If you don't have pocket-style page protectors this type of double page layout is still possible to achieve.  You just need to tape down the pocket style papers/cards/photos onto a 12x12 piece of card stock.
I love both styles of 'scrapbooking' and for me this is the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS! :)

Birthday Card using Taylored Expressions stamps & Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Dies

Hello Everyone

Today I'm sharing a card I created using products from Lawn Fawn and Taylored Expressions!  I love both manufacturers!  They have the cutest designs.  The papers I used was from Lawn Fawn's Sweater Weather collection.  The circles are cut using the new Small Stitched Circle Stackable Dies and Large Stitched Circle Stackable Dies.  The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Shade Tree Sentiments and the adorable monkey and lion are from Taylored Expressions Hippo Birdy stamp set. Finally I coloured the critters with Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers

It was very easy to put together and can be mass produced to make it part of a card set for a gift or just to have on hand.  You can change the sentiments and images with all the great ones that come in the sets!

Hello Everyone

I created this layout for Sketch N Scrap.  The layout sketch was created by Kelly Holyfield one of the very talented sketch artists and co-owners at Sketch N Scrap

I decided to use the Elle's Studio Everyday Moments collection.  I stitched the background circle to ground my title that goes around.  I used some American Craft Thickers that have been in my stash for a long time but had not used and it was perfect for this layout! :)

Journaling on your Scrapbook Layouts - contribution for Scrap Your Scraps

Hello Everyone

Yes, I am guilty of not journaling on all my scrapbook layouts.  Thanks Jeanette, for reminding us of how important it is to journal on our scrapbook layouts. There are some that I do make a point of journaling not matter how short.  They are usually of things I don't want to forget or have my daughters and further generations know.  Here is an example of one of these pages.

Twistback Thursday Sketch N Scrap layout using Dear Lizzy Products

Hello Everyone

I created this layout for the Sketch N Scrap Twistback Thursday!  The layout sketch was created by Lisa Hidy one of the very talented sketch artists and co-owners at Sketch N Scrap. Twistback Thursday is based on something old and something new this month.  Using one newer (less than 1 year) paper and embellishment and one older (over 1 year) paper and embellishment.

I decided to go with two Dear Lizzy collections.  The Day Dreamer Collection (Newer Collection) and the Lucky Charm Collection (Older Collection).
