PURE BLISS LAYOUT using SIMPLE STORIES DIY BOUTIQUE COLLECTION KIT

Hello Everyone
So excited to be posting my first Design Team project for Scrapbooks By Design today!
This layout is a single page multi-photo scrapbook layout featuring the papers from the Simple Stories DIY Boutique Collection Kit.  The squares are 2x2 inch.  The phrases are from one of the sheets in the kit that I cut apart.  My photos are approximately 4x4 squares.  I also used the heart die from the LAWN FAWN 4x6 Stitched Journaling die set.  The sequins are from the LAWN FAWN Let's Polka Mixed Sequin pack  and the cute stamped music notes are from the LAWN FAWN Year Four Stamp Set.

Simon Says Stamp To Thine Own Shelf School Binder Cover

Hello Everyone

A few years ago when my older daughter started Grade 4 and was told she needed a couple of Binders for school I started creating personalized front covers for her binders.  Now it's a tradition that is part of our getting ready for school.  This year I will be creating two for each of my daughters. This is the first one I have completed for my older daughter who eats, sleeps and breathes books When I saw this stamp set I knew I had to use it for her.  It was perfect!  I created the background using Simon Says Stamps September 2014 card kit stamp set To Thine Own Shelf.  I used a mix of Jenni Bowlin and Simon Says Stamp stamp sets.  The 4x6 card front I created using Taylored Expressions Pockets & Pages Essentials 4x6 die set and used more of the images in the To Thine Own Shelf to decorate it.  The "True Story" is heat embossed with AC Zing! Embossing Powder in Teal.

Pretty Pink Posh Cutting Edge Blog Hop Day 2

Hello Everyone

Today I created a set of 6 birthday shaker card invitations using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads (Picked Raspberry, Shaded Lilac and Squeezed Lemonade) on Watercolour paper and Lawn Fawn dies and stamps. I am entering these in the Pretty Pink Posh Cutting Edge Blog Hop.  The card bases are 110 lb card stock and cut at 10 x 3 1/2 and scored at 5.  I used Lawn Fawn's Stitched Party Banners die set, Louie's 123 dies for the numbers, the Birthday Tags stamp set for the inside of the shaker front, and Just My Type Too for the saying.  The sprinkles are from Martha Stewart and the rhinestone brads from Stampin' Up!.  I heat embossed the card base and used Ranger's Iridescent Embossing Powder.

Sketch N Scrap August 20th, 2014 Card Sketch ... Hello Baby

Hello Everyone
I'm so excited to be sharing this month's second Sketch N Scrap card with you today!  This is the card sketch created by Lisa Hidy one of the very talented sketch artists and co-owners at Sketch N Scrap.

For my card I used all products from Lawn Fawn.  I used the Hello Sunshine 6x6 Paper Pack for the patterned papers.  The twine is Lawn Trimmings in Cloudy and the adorable ducks and saying is from the Hello Baby Stamp set and I used the coordinating Lawn Cuts to die cut the ducks.

Scraps Only Layout

Hello Everyone

Today I'm sharing a layout I created using only scraps I had from Lawn Fawn 12x12 and 6x6 sheets of paper.  I love making use of every inch of paper I love and seeing how far I can take it.  I have used as my layering pieces as well as using them to cut out my die shapes.  Hope you get inspired to use your favourite papers until there is nothing really left.

50 Projects - Motivation To Create

50 Projects - On May 17, 2013 I joined and posted my first project. To date I have completed 5 rounds of 50 projects and have almost completed round 6 as well. When I joined 50 projects I had been on a buying binge for a long time and not really creating as much as I wanted to. 50 projects got me away from loading my " shopping carts" from multiple online stores and back into my craft room to create. All the members are great in that everyone encourages each other and likes and comments on each other's projects which I think goes a long way to get us motivated to keep on creating. It is a great community of kind and talented people. I get motivated by seeing what everyone creates from cards to layouts to organizing all our precious paper crafting tools and supplies. Tiffany is brilliant in seeing a need that I think a lot of us paper crafters can relate to in that we sometimes ( ok... For me it's all the time! Lol) get carried away and buy all the beautiful products out there and then have them sign pretty in our rooms/ spaces but don't actually create.  This group is a great place to start creating and maybe not buy so much or at all until you start actually using up some of your great purchases that you had to have!  This group was also the jumping off point for me to start meeting a lot of great and talented people and be part of some great design teams where I have been able to expand my creativity. Thank you so much Tiffany for all you have done for me personally as well as a lot of other paper crafters who are now creating instead of just buying!

 HAPPY SCRAPPIN'!

Sweet Strawberries... August 2014 Inspired By Sketch Layout Sketch N Scrap

Hello Everyone
Today  I'm sharing my August 2014 Sketch N Scrap Inspired By Layout with you.  This layout sketch was created by Kelly Holifield one of the very talented sketch artists and co-owners at Sketch N Scrap.

Here is my take on the layout:  All my papers are from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan line.  A little bit of embellishing and I was finished.  I used the PicFrame App to create the photo collage and then printed it off on my home printer (HP Photosmart 7520).

Ashley Calder's Challenge on Scrap Your Scraps August 2014

Hello Everyone

These two layouts are a challenge from Ashley Calder.  She was kind enough to send these goodies from her Etsy Shop (Ashley Calder and the Things That Shine) and asked if I would like to create some layouts using some of her products with inspiration from Pinterest. There were lots of inspirations from Ashley's Boards on Pinterest.  This is one PIN that inspired from one of Ashley's boards for my pocket page layout and Here is another PIN from her boards that inspired the first layout here.

These are all the wonderful goodies I received from Ashley Calder.

As it seems lately with me I started my layout with some water colouring.  Just a bit of Gesso as the base so that my water colouring did not go though the paper and then some pink washed watercolours in a few different shades.

Some pretty pink sequins from my embellishment goodies from Ashley sprinkled around the top left corner and bottom right area.

I used three bright pink doilies in the background to ground my photos.  I also used this pretty flowered envelope to stick in the larger kraft tag.  I used some of the twine that had held the blue tulle   together from my kit to loop through the top of the tag.

I die cut the word YOU and then heat set the neon pink super fine glitter from my kit.

I also die cut the circle LOVE die and used the centre of one of the extra doilies as the background for it. I used the light pink crinkled streamer on the bottom of my photos.

Here is the final look at the finished layout.

Here is a second layout I created with most of the left over embellishments that I received from Ashley.  It's a pocket style layout.

I stapled three of these adorable tags from Ashley onto a 3x4 water coloured card and stamped on them using some black ink.

Lots of pretty shades of pink sequins from Ashley.  Again I just spread them all around this pink water coloured 3x4 card.

This 3x4 card is from a strip that my younger daughter had water coloured and given me to use in a layout.  The floss that I used are both from Ashley.  I loved the colours of both.  So pretty.

This 3x4 blue water coloured 3x4 card was also stitched on using more of the blue floss from Ashley.

Ashley also sent me some pretty shades of green sequins that I used on this 3x4 card as well.

Just a little more bling with the sequins for my title 4x6 card.

This is the finished layout.
I want to thank Ashley Calder for suppling these amazing and fun embellishments for me to create with.  I loved playing around with all the goodies.  You can visit Ashley's Etsy Shop (Things That Shine) and purchase some absolutely awesome embellishments to use on your next project.
